We Made The Big Move

In the space of twenty-four days Tony got a new job, we sold our house, and moved to Austin.  What a whirlwind!  We are now in a very quiet, very convenient-to-everything, beautiful apartment and though it was sad at first I know we are going to love it here.  Of course it was hard leaving everything and everyone we’ve ever known behind, but you’ll never get anywhere if you don’t get out of your comfort zone and take a chance.

I know Austin is full of possibilities that, as good as things were in Paris, we would never have had if we’d stayed.

Tony and I really like the feel of the city and Matthew told us tonight that he has decided to stay in Austin.  That could have something to do with the train ride at Zilker Park and the carousel at the mall!  Everyone we’ve met has been extremely friendly so far and we are fortunate enough to have some great friends that live here, too.  I plan on updating the site more often since we are so far away from friends and family so please check back when you have time!  We miss everyone so feel free to leave a comment or email us.  We’d love to hear from you all.

Glad to hear you are settling in. Wile I miss the heck out of Tony and wish I had gotten to know you better, I think Austin is going to be a great fit for you all. It helps that you already know some people too. Make Tony take you to FlipHappy Crepes (they have some with banana and nutella!)

I’ll be checking in on the blog and keeping my fingers crossed that I find some excuse to come down there this school year!

FlipHappy was unbelievably good. I had the banana & nutella you suggested and I will definitely be going back for more!

Hope you make it down here sometime. We would love to see you!

I’m so glad you’re posting about your Austin adventures. Nick and Angela have adjusted to life in Jarrell, but I think they spend almost as much time in Georgetown. I don’t think they’ve done a ton of exploring in Austin yet, but I’m sure that they will. I’ll add your blog to my Google Reader so that I can keep up with you!!

Good to hear from you, Denise, and I look forward to keeping in touch with you. It is very good to hear that Nick & Angela are doing well. Moving with a little one is even more nerve wracking than doing it on your own-I should know! But Matthew is adjusting well. He knows we can still visit everyone, it just takes longer!!!
