Halloween Party
Guess What We Got
Friday evening we stopped into Wal-Mart to pick up a few things. (Yes, we’re old married folks. I’m sure you were partying on Friday night.) I went by the electronics department just like I’ve done at least 100 times in the last few months.
Only this time, something was different. That empty space above the price sticker for the Nintendo Wii wasn’t empty. There was a big white box there, with the word Wii on it. I stood guard while Paige went to find an employee. As he approached I said “Is that a Wii?” “Yes,” he replied.
Things get a little fuzzy at this point. I remember pointing to the box, then pointing to our shopping cart… My spirit left my body for a while, but luckily returned in time for me to swipe my debit card… Now I’m the proud owner of a shiny new Wii.
So if you happen to drive by our house and notice us jumping around the living room like crazy people, we’re probably just playing with the Wii. Come on in and join us. All we have right now is Wii Sports, but I’m sure that will change soon. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess looks great, as does Mario Party 8.

This might just be my new theme song:
That’s “White & Nerdy” by Weird Al.
MySpace
I will be talking about MySpace this evening at 6:00pm in the high school auditorium. I’ll cover how to make your profile private, why that doesn’t really help, and things you shouldn’t talk about on MySpace.
Unfortunately, I won’t be showing profile pages of high school students this time. I’m a little afraid of irate parents. Some of the stuff I found might not go over too well.
The presentation I gave for the teachers a few weeks ago was a lot of fun. I actually called a student on her cell phone during the first presentation and told her she might want to delete that comment.
Believe it or not, the comment is still there. I thought for sure that a strange man calling her at 8:30am would be enough to motivate her to remove the comment. I guess I was wrong.
I’m not sure what the big shocker is going to be this evening, hopefully I’ll think of something between now and then.
